WebP Quality and Size Controls

img2webp.com gives you real control over your output. Select lossy mode for smaller file sizes — ideal for photographs and complex images — or lossless mode for pixel-perfect output suited to logos, icons, and graphics with sharp edges.

In lossy mode, use the quality slider to balance file size against visual fidelity. Lower values produce smaller files; higher values keep more detail. Finding the right setting depends on your use case, but most web images look great between 75 and 85.

Resize and Transparency Options

Resize images before conversion using four modes: keep original dimensions, scale by percentage, set exact pixel dimensions, or choose from screen presets. This lets you prepare images for specific layouts without a separate editor.

WebP supports alpha transparency, so your transparent PNGs stay transparent. For contain-mode resizing, you can set a background fill color. There is also an optional color-to-transparent replacement with a tolerance control — useful for removing solid backgrounds from simple graphics.
